05/26/2010 - The Air Quality Unit, in conjunction with a major national consultant company, win the project "Comparative analysis of technological change programs for wood stoves and evaluation of its implementation in the Metropolitan Area of Saniago" The project is led en the AQU Dr. Nicolás by Dr. Nicolás Schiappacasse Poyanco.
05/24/2010 - Dr. Luis Alonso Díaz Robles traveled to CANADA, Calgary, to present two research papers and to participate in the Technical Meeting of the 103 rd Annual Conference of the Air & Waste Management Association, 2010-2013.

05/24/2010 - Dr. Luis Alonso Díaz Robles was invited to the Scientic Committee of the First A&WMA's Conference in Xi'an, China, May 10-14 of 2010. He also presented two research papers.

05/10/2010 - The School of Environmental Engineering won the CORFO INNOVA GRANT "Centre for Renewable Energies and Environmental Quality."
05/10/2010 - Mercury Emissions Control and R+D on Coal Burning Power Plants.

OUR PROFILE
The Air Quality Unit (AQU) is a scientific and technological unit of excellence dependent on the Centre of Renewable Energies and Environmental Quality (CREEQ) of the College of Engineering at the Catholic University of Temuco. The AQU is constituted by national and international researchers and scientists. Our work covers the Research and Innovation, Technical Assistance, and Training in the area of Air Quality Management and Air Pollution Control, where we develop the themes of Air Quality Modeling, Particulate Matter and Ozone Forecasting, Health Risk Assessment, Emissions and Ambient Monitoring, Emissions Inventories, and Air Pollution Control Systems.

Acording to the United Nations Development Programme, the energy and air quality are essential for sustainable development. The poor and the middle class are disproportionately affected by air quality degradation and lack of access to clean, affordable energy services. More ...

AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DIPLOMA
The air pollution problem has positioned every day chores of the public and private institutions, which is demanding a specialization of engineers who are able to provide integrated solutions on air quality and energy efficiency. Therefore, the School of Environmental Engineering at the Catholic University of Temuco, with the base of the undergraduate careers of Environmental Engineering and Civil Environmental Engineering, its faculty and its international collaboration seeks to satisfy this need, with the creation of an Air Quality Management Diploma.
