A new education model has been proposed following the Bologna declaration and the Tuning project, intended to obtain mobility, employability and competitiveness at a university level, also intended to balance the education structure and its itinerary, to reach an agreement in the credit value, to get academic and professional profiles according to the demands of the society, to train students leading to the development of competencies and learning results, and to offer continuous education.
The UC Temuco proposes an education of people who will be socially responsible, visionary, entrepreneurial and democratic, and who will be able to insert themselves -critically and efficiently- in the global working world.
The UC Temuco has designed a cross-curriculum which takes into account not only the objectives, graduate profiles, courses and activities of each academic program, but also the interpersonal relationships, extra curricular activities, opportunities to have interdisciplinary training, among others. This curriculum is aimed at achieving a wholesome development of students emphasizing ethic and Christian values. Also, it is aimed at offering the students the opportunity to put into practice some attitudes and abilities which will help them in their future personal and professional performance.
