The purpose of this unit is to build relationships and to dialogue with the people in the region through activities aimed at updating and improving knowledge, cultural programs, and various types of forums and dialogues, which allow the university to learn from different social actors and make the academic production of the UC Temuco available to different audiences. The academic extension is focused on ethnic, social, cultural, educational and productive issues on which the regional development depends.
The Art Gallery of the UC Temuco is an important space for the arts. Its 200 square meters are especially designed to exhibit different plastic and visual expressions of regional and national artists. The gallery is a contribution to the spiritual and cultural growth of the region.
It was created in 2001 to contribute to the development of youth through the teaching and practicing of music, offering study alternatives in various areas. From its beginning, it has offered different courses on several instrumental disciplines and on music theory. Nowadays the Conservatory has a Choral Camera Group and a Guitar Camera Orchestra.
